Welcome to Kindergarten!

Dear Families,

  Welcome to our 2023-2024 school year! My name is Justine Hayes and I will be your child’s kindergarten teacher this year. This is my 7th year teaching and I absolutely love kindergarten! I am so excited about teaching your child this year – kindergarten is going to be SO much fun!

  To start off, I would like to tell you a little about myself professionally and personally. I am a graduate of Ocean Springs (2012), Mississippi University for Women (2016), and Belhaven University (2023). I’ve taught 4th grade at Gorenflo Elementary in Biloxi, 1st grade at Lyman Elementary in Gulfport. I am currently heading into my fifth year of kindergarten right here at Eastlawn! When I am not teaching or in my classroom, I enjoy reading, hanging out with my friends and family, watching movies, and serving my community through my local church on the Gulf Coast.

  I would like to work closely with you this year, and I believe that frequent communication is vital. If you need to get in touch with me I arrive at school by 6:50 AM and do not leave until 3:30 PM. Email is the quickest way to get in touch with me. I check it constantly at school.
